Meet Your Personal Voice Instructor

Haley Hudson grew up singing and playing guitar, piano, and ukulele. Throughout middle and high school, she participated in choir and musical theatre. Then, she attended Shenandoah University and earned her undergraduate degree in Music Education with a Performance Certificate in 2018.
She began her career teaching elementary music for several years before she began teaching private music lessons. This led her back to Shenandoah University to pursue her Master's Degree in Vocal Pedagogy with a concentration in Contemporary Commercial Music. Here, she gained more knowledge in teaching a wide variety of genres and studied evidence-based voice teaching.

Since graduating with her Masters Degree in 2024, Haley has been focused on performing and writing music as well as teaching. She released her first single, Lucid Dreaming, in March 2025. Haley loves to perform to be able to share her passion for music. She is continually working to craft her artistry through writing and performing.
Teaching Philosophy
My teaching philosophy is rooted in creating a trusting and nurturing environment. I believe that the student and teacher relationship is an essential part of a singer’s success. By creating this trust, the student will be more comfortable taking risks with their singing and will, in turn, begin to trust themself.
The job of a singing teacher is not only to teach singing but also to be a mentor by nurturing the emotions of the student. Singing is one of the most vulnerable acts one can do in my opinion, and if the student is emotionally blocked or self-conscious, they will not be able to experience the freeness and joy that comes with singing. I always begin with what my students are comfortable with and try not to push boundaries at first. As the relationship and connection grows, I will begin encouraging the student to take risks slowly. By this point, the student is comfortable enough to either try what I have asked them to do or say they are not quite ready to try that yet which I am fully respectful of.
It is my responsibility to foster individual expression through music by showcasing and accepting students’ uniqueness and diversity. I have a zero tolerance policy for discrimination against students based on their age, race, ethnicity, sex, gender expression and/or identity, sexual orientation, religious or personal beliefs, disability, or social/financial status. I truly believe that anyone can and should sing, and music is the one thing that can connect us regardless of our differences.
